September in a flash

I'm not exactly sure where September went, but it is nearly gone. The leaves have started to fall and the temps have been amazing--cool breezes and lots of sunshine.
A couple of days with crazy rain falls had us checking our basement regularly, but fortunately we were spared from any leaks.
The kids are doing great in school. Carter continues to go on the potty and sleeps dry through the night.

We also found time to fit in a fun little sleep-over with the Brouwer girls.

Carter's 1st day of school!

Today Carter attended "my school" for his speech class. He was so excited and ran right in not even turning around today to say "good-bye". His class only has two kids in it with a speech pathologist and a helper--pretty good ratio.

We had a classroom visit 3 weeks ago and he cried when he couldn't take the airplane that he had been playing with home. He went right in and found it with Miss Chris.

Potty Trained ?!?!?!

I have hesitated to post an update on potty training in thinking that it may jinx my latest accomplishment in our home. It all started last week Friday when Carter's diaper was dry before his nap. I asked him if he wanted to go on the potty, but there were no results. When he woke up from his nap he was still dry and again I put him on the potty where he was able to relax and have a good pee. The next couple of hours were spent in underwear and he went several times when I place him on the potty. I was very sceptical at this point because he hadn't yet told me if he had to go potty, but instead just went when I decided it was time for him to go.

The next morning he woke up dry and was in underwear all day with only one accident. That night Mike asked if he wanted "privacy" and if fact he needed some because when Mike returned there was much more than pee in the potty!

So today is Wednesday and since Friday afternoon Carter has had three accidents, has slept dry every night, and has remained dry with every nap. He does tell me upon occasion that he needs to "go peeing" and also goes every time I feel that it has been long enough since the last release. Mike is also very proud that he now also says, "get out! need pribsy (privacy)" and we all now what that means!

Taylor's 1st day of preschool

With much anticipation and inpatience Taylor's 1st day of preschool finally arrived this past Thursday. This year she has both Isaac and Jaclyn in her class.
She is attending school three afternoons a week and had a great first day and never looked back after saying good-bye.
Taylor by her cubby.

Bubbles

I am loving the drop in temps this week!
The above pictures are of Taylor and Carter playing bubbles as they wait for Hailey to come home from school.
(PS. Potty training is in the works. I hope to post positive news in the near future.)
