It was the 2nd annual Vis cousins trip to the Miedemas'! Stephanie loads up the Yukon (minus Kensie and Cassie) and heads north for non-stop fun with the cousins!

Carter absolutely loved every aspect of boating: the launching, the speed, the pull. He has been playing boat everyday since returning home.

Vacation this year was definitely one for the records. It was the hottest vacation anyone could ever remember; it was 95+degrees for 5 consecutive days. The water was the only place we were relieved from the heat and even the water got too warm.

Despite the temps, we enjoyed ourselves with good food and fun. We had our annual races and kick ball game. We got Grandpa and Grandma out on the tube and each of the kids dared to try new things out on the water. Thankfully we were able return each night to cool campers for some much need rest.

Como Zoo and Como Town

Como Zoo was one of our most favorite past times when living at Como Student Housing so today we decided to be a little nostalgic and travel north to check out what was new at student housing and help jar the kid's memories while riding past our apartment, our gardens, and the playgrounds. It gives me such mixed memories being back there. The times we had living there were so very precious, but yet we were always looking forward to the next stage of Mike's training and our growing family. In some ways, we look back and believe that life was a bit simpler there in some ways.
The kids were more excited about the rides at Como Town than the lazy, hot animals at the zoo. Carter had a hard time that couldn't go on the dragon roller coaster; it has been his goal since going to the Dells to grow big enough to go down the toilet slide next time we go. Each morning he gets on our scale in our bedroom and says "I think I am big enough now to go down the toilet slide."

Miedema Family Vacation--Peter's Resort--Glennwood, MN

We have just returned from 4 marvelous days at Peter's Resort with Mike's family. The weather couldn't have been better. We celebrated Grandma Miedema's birthday and her retirement with lots of fun in the sun. The kids had such a good time with their cousins and really enjoyed the water toys out in the lake. Carter couldn't get enough of the jet ski and tubing.

This golden lab was at the resort and brought the kids a ball to throw out in the lake and retrieved it for almost an hour! They loved it.

A Compton Visit

With school out and the schedule less hectic, Lisa and I are able to get the kids together for a fun playdate. They had a blast out on the trampoline with the sprinkler under.

Team Sports

Hailey is about half way through her BAA Softball season. This year we have noticed marked improvement with the team and with Hailey's hitting.

Taylor has begun with her first organized team sport. She plays with the mini-mites baseball team. She is an aggressive hitter, but doesn't enjoy playing in the field much.
