Vis Family Vacation in Cross Lake, MN

One our favorite things each year that we look forward to is spending a week in Cross Lake, MN with the Vis family.  This year we were especially blessed by wonderful weather and calm water which resulted in endless fun at the beach and excellent fishing

 Both Carter and Mike were very successful with fishing over the week.  They caught lots of pike and bass.  The above pike was Carter's 18 inch.

 Charlie was a popular guest with us this year; he got lots of attention.

Summer Sports Wrap Up

 Taylor's softball team finished the season in 2nd place overall and took 2nd in the tournament.  She had a great season and did a lot of pitching.

 Carter and his buddies from school formed an edina soccer team and played fantastic together!

Hailey's 13th Birthday!

 Hailey celebrated her 13th birthday with her friends from school at Long Lake where we spent the day tubing and relaxing.  Such a great group of girls!

Grandma Miedema's 70th Birthday!

 Months ahead we had planned to surprise Shar for her 70th birthday.  We never thought that we would be able to keep it a surprise, but somehow we did!  We set up the party at Merle and Teresa on July 1st; her exact day of her birthday.  Loren picked her up in the corvette to "make her feel special" and controlled her arrival time.  It was perfect!

 Uncle Rog and his band were the entertainment and were fantastic!  They played the oldies and the kids danced all night and played the cowbell

 Happy Birthday was played by the grandkids on kazoos

 We took the kids to the Pipestone Monument in Pipestone, MN the day following the party.

 The 4th of July was quiet as we were still tired from the fun party in Holland.  We did some fireworks on the driveway and a little sunset fishing in Bloomington

 Taylor and Carter have both learned to enjoy kite flying!

Lake Waconia

 We pretended to live on Lake Waconia for a week while Mike worked at Ridgeview.  He loved his 5 minute commute and we loved the water right outs tide our door.  We had the most beautiful sunsets and warm weather for boating.
