This week has been a bit frustrating on the house hunt. To sum it up quite simply: the ones we like are too expensive and we don't like the ones we can afford. I think that we are going to learn a very important lesson of patience. This is OK. We have now been at Como Student Housing for 6 years and this is our home. We also really enjoy summers here so we will just wait and see. I do think we are talking about it too much lately. Hailey came up to me with a fist full of money from her treasure box and said "you can use this to buy the house."
On a different note: Taylor has started to figure out how to use the potty. She doesn't tell me when she has to go, but always goes when I put her on. I think this is referred to as "mommy trained" but it is a start and she is very proud.
Right now Hailey and Mike are at the US Women's Open. Maybe this will spark Hailey's interest in becoming a professional golfer. The other day she said "I just don't know what to be. I want to be a preschool teacher and a lifeguard, but I also what people to listen to the CDs I'm going to make."

Weekend Fun
This weekend we were again fortunate to have visitors from the south. My sister Stephanie and her family came up on Friday for a weekend of fun in Minneapolis. We did a lot in a short period of time: MOA, Como, Twins game, and the bikes at Minehaha. Notice anyone missing from the Twins game? I'll give you a clue: we were able to stay all nine innings.
Tomorrow we are going to start looking at homes!

Match Day
Well, we have anticipated this day for what seems like forever. Next July Mike will be starting his Cardiology Fellowship at The University of Minnesota. Congratulations Mike! Wow--I will post more thoughts later.

Mike Has Completed Residency!
We are so proud to announce that Mike has completed his residency of Internal Medicine at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Mn on June 13th, 2008. He will start his position as Chief Resident at Abbott on Monday which lasts for one year. He as chosen to specialize in Cardiology which means that he will need to train for another 4 years in a cardiology fellowship. Where? We find out on Wednesday at 11am where he has placed in the "match". The fellowship will start in July of 2009.
It has been quite the ride. I don't really think that either Mike nor I had a clue what it meant when we set out on this journey of becoming an MD. We have been so blessed in so many areas we cannot even count them. There were times when I felt so overwhelmed with the process, the hours, and the demand. All the while, I believe that we have been placed here at the exactly the right time, the right place, in the right home, with the right friends, in the right church, with the most beautiful family that I could ever have dreamed of by God.
