Basketball Season Summary

Here is the Calvin Christian Eagles 4-6 grade girls basketball team of 2013-2014!
I was head coach of Hailey's basketball team this year; a new experience for both of us. Miss Michelle stepped up as assistant coach.  Only a couple of the girls had ever played before this year, so we started out the season pretty slow.  They improved every week and did a fantastic job!  We finished the season 3-7.
The picture is after one of our big wins!  They were so very excited.  Hailey had 6 points in this game.

This was after our final game.  We lost in the first round of the tournament to a team that we had beat just a week earlier.
Hailey's end of the year stats:
Points: 20
Steals: 7
Rebounds: 16
Block shots: 1
What a great group of girls!

To celebrate the season, we had just one game left: Moms VS Girls!!!!
The moms took the dramatic approach to the game.
The moms played in the first half and the dads took them on in the second half.
The girls picked up another win on the season after defeating the dads by 2.

Skiing

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and took our 2nd skiing trip with the kids.  Last year we braved the mountains of Vermont.  This year we just went east about 40 miles to Afton Alps.
The girls picked up right where they left off and were completely independent.  They even conquered a few black diamonds in the afternoon.
Carter definitely made improvement from last year.  He was ready to move on from the bunny hill, but the bigger hills got the best of him from time to time.  He was very brave and determined.
We skied from 10am-5:30pm.  It was so beautiful.  I love my family.  I am blessed.

Lots of kids!!!!!

We had the privilege to watch the three Schroeder kids at our house for the weekend;  a family with 6 kids is busy and lots of fun!  Can you find Shea hidden during the hide-n-seek game in the picture above!
We loaded everyone up in the van for a swimming adventure.
Then off to church on Sunday morning.  What a great group!
Following our Schroeder kid fun, we met my parents to pick up Miss Harper and Miss Kensington.  We had them for four days.  It is so very fun to see the cousins spend time together.  They are so very sweet.
Harper added a whole new detention to our home: diapers, high chairs, cribs, and danger!!!
Kensie rotated bedrooms each night to be fair to the kids.  This is their final night in Carter's bedroom.
 Movie night!
Hailey took Kensie sledding for the first time.  The smile is a bit deceptive because she really didn't like it at all!
Thank you Wil and Ginnie for letting us have them!!
