This and That

Hailey refuses to act normal around the camera these days as you can see. She also had a well child check along with Carter this week. The poor girl had 5 vaccinations! She is now all set for school. Hailey starts kindergarten next Wednesday and got to meet her teacher and bring her supplies to school on Friday. She is pretty excited. Mom is emotional, but I try and act really excited around Hailey.
If I let Taylor choose her outfit for the day she always goes for the rose dress.
The new home owners think that mowing the lawn is such fun. Not sure when that will wear off.
My babies in their jammies. Sometimes I wish that I could just freeze the clock and keep them right where they are at. I cherish these times and am so thankful for my precious little ones.

Carter is Nine Months!

Carter Dean is 9 months. It has been an eventful month for him: new house, three new teeth, crawling, and an ear infection.
He weighed in at 20lb 13oz. and was 29 inches long. He got away with only one vaccination this time, but we were informed that his ears looked terrible and is now on a two week course of antibiotics. Check out the video of crawling. The girls are already learning to put what they do not want destroyed out of reach of Carter.

Mike took his Internal Medicine Board Exam on Wednesday. He had to do some last minute cramming and Hailey thought it would be funny to take pictures.

The Move

Well, thanks to all of the family, friends, and people we didn't even know we are happily settled in our new home. I think that we are in the honey-mooning stage because we don't have anything negative to say thus far. It is wonderful. The girls are sleeping in their bedroom downstairs without any issues. That includes Taylor in a big girl bed--she is doing awesome. We have so many people to thank that it is hard to know where to even begin. Paige, Stephanie, and Kendra--thank you for watching the kids during the packing process. Dad, Eric, Dan, Mark, Graham, Jack, Steve, Craig, and all of those Calvin guys--thank you for carrying packing/unloading. Mom and Stephanie--thank you for cleaning and unpacking. Laura--thank you for the awesome meal to feed our hungry workers. To all of the kids--Trajan, Damon, Makenna, Hailey, Taylor, Carter, Caleb, Bennet, and Kylie--Thank you for being so flexible and well behaved.
We have been so blessed with such awesome family and friends. We are pretty much unpacked and settled. There are a few things that we are still learning with being new home-owners, but it is all great. I'm loving the washer/dryer, dishwasher, and garage. Mike is loving the same, but more so maybe his TV. The girls love the deck and back yard. Carter needs to love his new room a bit more during the night, but that is about the only complaint at this point.

The loading process was much for tedious than unloading. Our friend Steve showed up with 12 men that were at his house for a reunion to unload. That was wild and I didn't even get a chance to take pictures.

The Latest Craze

When I did the Back Yard Bible Club I got some hula hoops for the kids. At first Hailey couldn't do it at all, but with lots of practice she is a pro. Sometimes we find her just twirling her hips without a hula-hoop.

Last Days at Como

So Carter has had some "firsts" in the last days at Como Student Housing. He gets from tummy back up to sitting and somehow makes his way across the room without really crawling. He also got his first bottom tooth and loves to grind his gums together making a kind of awkward smile.
On National Night out Como had a potluck for all of the residents. The food is very different from our typical church potlucks, but it doesn't hurt to try different things. The U of M police came to show off their squad cars and motorcycles to the kids. We are hoping this isn't a vision into the future for our little Taylor!

Congratulations Ginnie & Wil!!!!

This past Friday evening Wil popped the question to Auntie Ginnie and of course she accepted! We were so lucky that it just so happened that the next day they came to the cities for a Twins game so we got to go and see them (and the ring) at the Mall of America. The girls had hard time understanding the whole thing. Hailey said "So they're getting married today at the Mall of America?" The wedding is actually planned to take place May 2, 2009. We are so happy for Ginnie & Wil.
