MSP-SEA
February 2-8 we vacationed off to the Big Island for a week long family vacation. Mike needed some continuing education credits and so each morning he attended class from 7:30-11:30am while mom and the kids headed out to the beaches and pools. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful; almost magical. The kids really enjoyed each other and some really special memories were made together.....a rare occasion with everyone being so busy back at home.
We escaped a stretch of horrible weather in MN; icy roads, snow storms, and bitter cold temps.
Hours and hours were spent boogie boarding and enjoying the waves
The resort was so beautiful
Each evening we would venture out to dinner. First up was:
Lava Lava Beach Club
Dressed up for dinner at Roys
Our day away brought us to the east side of the island where the landscape turns very tropical.
We went zip lining on a 9 zip 2 mile course that sent us soaring above trees and water falls!
Akaka Falls
So many different plants, flowers, and trees.......amazing
The sunsets were beautiful
This cove was adjacent to our hotel. It was surrounded by lava rock and housed sea turtles that would venture out and swim in the waves with the kids.
Next up we attended a sunset luau!
Shopping Day with the kids
Beach Day
Shaved Ice is a must in Hawaii
Our night time adventure: night snorkeling with the mantas
Each day called for smoothies by the pool
The overnight flight home back to MN.
So very blessed to have this time with my precious family.
Love you all.
